Hello, I’m Grace – an Australian writer, editor, and photographer based in Sydney, Australia. Sharing local voices and stories from across Japan and the world.
My passion for culture, craftsmanship, and local stories leads me to specialise in:
SEO-optimised travel writing (short-form and long-form)
Features on topics ranging from the arts to sustainable tourism
Tourism and culture-related branded content and content marketing
From digging a 4WD out of the Sahara with a sandal, battling it out in a Spanish wine fight festival, and peeling mulberry bark alongside local craftspeople at a Japanese paper mill – I’ve always loved chasing the scent of a good story.
I graduated with a BA in International Media and Japanese at Macquarie University, then worked in a range of Communications roles from local government to global teams within Expedia Group.
One well-timed layoff later, the best cure for my mid-20s identity crisis seemed like one thing – to learn. I booked a one-way ticket overseas and followed a trail of stories around the world: a travel writing course in Spain, a sustainable tourism program with Asia-Europe Foundation in Slovenia and Croatia, an editorial internship with STORIED magazine in Japan, and more.
Back in Sydney, I’ve recently completed a Cert. IV in Radio and Podcasting to expand into audio storytelling platforms. I also work as a Content Executive in an SEO-focused digital marketing agency while freelancing for travel and culture content.
